     Shcherbakov Boris Vasilievich (1939) - naturalist writer, ornithologist, candidate of biological sciences, secretary of the East Kazakhstan branch of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, member of the Union of Writers of the USSR and Kazakhstan. Excellence in Education of the Kazakh SSR, President of the East Kazakhstan Association of Cultural Relations between India and Kazakhstan. Boris Vasilievich was born on July 5 in  Ust-Kamenogorsk  East Kazakhstan region . All its activities are aimed at studying and protecting the nature of Kazakhstan. He made more than 300 expeditions to Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Altai, Vietnam (1989), India (1996, 1997). These expeditions resulted in a series of fascinating

essays "On the other side of the Himalayas", "Returning from distant wanderings", "At the walls of the sacred Taj Mahal". Boris Vasilievich is the initiator of the creation of the State West Altai, Markakol State Natural Reserve, Tarbagatai Natural Zoological Reserve. He developed six educational and ecological routes for students of schools and lyceums of the region. More than 300 scientific publications, essays on zoology, ecology and pedagogy have been published. Among them: the cadastre of vertebrates, described 132 species of birds of the region. Author of 35 books.

     The monumental work of the scientist Boris Shcherbakov and the scientist Viktor Ponyavin "Eastern Kazakhstan - the heart of Eurasia" is a kind of vasilevva guidebook of 1140 pages, dedicated to the nature of our region, with legends and traditions. At the presentation ceremony (December 11, 2012), the scientist-researcher was presented with a letter of thanks from N. Nazarbayev. Boris Vasilievich was repeatedly awarded for his work. Honorary citizen of the cities of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). In 2020, he was awarded the Kurmet Order.
